California Veterinary Medical Association is filing a lawsuit against the city of West Hollywood to challenge the law that prevents the declawing of cats in that city. There is a gathering to protest this CVMA lawsuit. Details follow...
CVMA FIGHTS FOR THE RIGHT TO MUTILATE

The CVMA has scheduled a press conference for tomorrow, March 6, 2005 at 10 am at Laurel Pet Hospital in West Hollywood (7970 Santa Monica Blvd., 323-654-7060, at Laurel Canyon and Santa Monica Blvds.) to announce their suit against West Hollywood's ban against declawing.

Why the California Veterinary Medical Association wants to spend its time challenging the will of the 37,000 citizens of West Hollywood when it could be working to end pet overpopulation or other serious issues is as puzzling as it is disturbing.

CVMA's British brethren, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, calls declawing "mutilation." Declawing is considered unethical by almost all the veterinarians in the rest of the world.

It would be a shame if protestors spoiled their nice press conference.

Hey therez in the house!

I waz passing by and sawz my roomiez walking into the house. I figured since Da Tyler monsterz haz been actingz more civilz that I would come on in. Da TM waszn't alwayz the nicest one of the kittiez. Shez hadz a huge attitude when shez first came to MY home. my mom and dad let the TM move in with the other 3 kittiez. But, it wasn't fair since it waz my home. Bad enough that the new kittiez took over all of the bested sleeping placez. But then they started taking over my momiez! Even tonight when I came into getz on the computerz with my momz Da TM waz lying in frontz of the keyboardz in my momz armz!... That'z MY PLACE!!!!!!!!! But, my momz was really nice and she asked Da TM's mommie to carry Da TM off soez that I could lie down in my momz armz and get petted. It waz good too. I did some work on the computerz stepping on the kitty buttonz that the momz don't know about.

So, now that I gotz my way with my mom I decided to come over herez and seez whatz iz going on herez. SO, hi to allz of youz.
